Year 2007, first day of the January was the remarkable day as Meerut heard for the very first time the sound of its very own Radio Station on their Radio sets. We no longer needed to borrow the voice of Delhi RJ and could proudly say that we have our own Radio Station in Meerut.

Radio IIMT 90.4(Community Radio Station), an initiative taken by Shri Yogesh Mohanji Gupta, Chairman IIMT Group of Colleges, Meerut, licensed under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India is the first Community Radio Station of Meerut started on 1st January 2007.

We, initially, started with 2 hours broadcast of programmes based on education. But with the increased demand for more hours and unending love received from the listeners, we extended our horizons, and now, are broadcasting for 18 hours. The population of Meerut is about 30 lakhs including rural and urban. Keeping this in mind, we have devised our programmes accordingly. At present, we are broadcasting programmes based on spirituality, employment, child psychology, Law and rights of citizens, home remedies, healthy recipes, environment & protection, sports, career prospects, inventions and discoveries, agriculture, health and community-participation with their folk songs besides entertainment.

Catering to a population that is a mix of rural and urban masses, Radio IIMT’s programmes are a mix of information and entertainment. The Radio is a hit for approx. more than 28 lakhs listeners, varied by homemakers, entrepreneurs, students, faculties, new startups, administrators, shop owners and the list goes on. The focus of our station is to combine the objective of development and reaching the community with the value that is created by community in all spheres of life. The innovative approach of combining knowledge and sharing the creativity with entertainment value is the success of our Community Radio Station. To spice up the standard recipe of information and education, we add a tadka of innovation and creativity.

Ambassador of different countries, various eminent personalities and government officials have also visited Radio IIMT and shared their nuggets of wisdom with the entire Meerut and surroundings. Being a Community Radio Station, Radio IIMT 90.4 bears the onus of broadcasting programmes that cater to the likings of the Community in general.
