510 Army Base Workshop, Meerut Cantt

The students of B. Tech Computer Science and Engineering, accompanied by faculty members, visited the 510 Army Base Workshop located at Meerut Cantonment on 25th April 2025 as part of an industrial exposure program aimed at bridging academic learning with real-world applications.
The 510 Army Base Workshop is a premier Défense maintenance facility under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. It plays a critical role in the overhaul, repair, and modernization of military vehicles, electronics, and communication systems, ensuring combat readiness and operational efficiency of the Indian Army.

The officials at the workshop provided valuable insights into the use of advanced computing systems, embedded technologies, and AI-powered diagnostic tools in defense logistics. The CSE students observed the integration of computer systems in real-time monitoring, automated testing, cybersecurity protocols, and software used in military-grade hardware.
The interactive session with senior engineers and defense personnel offered students the opportunity to understand how their field of study is applied in national defense services, exposing them to career opportunities in the defense technology sector.
The visit proved to be both educational and inspiring, allowing students to witness the practical applications of Computer Science in mission-critical systems and appreciate the role of technology in national security.
